Qualsafe Emergency First Aid at Work

forestry first aid

Course Overview

Our featured training for June is the Qualsafe Emergency First Aid at Work with Forestry (+F) option—an essential qualification for those operating in forestry, agriculture, and remote outdoor settings. This course is specifically tailored to provide the critical first aid skills and knowledge needed to respond to incidents where traditional emergency services may be delayed or inaccessible.

Delivered in line with the Forestry Commission’s First Aid Policy, the course goes beyond standard first aid by addressing industry-specific risks, including:

  • Severe chainsaw injuries
  • Heavy bleeding and crush incidents
  • Environmental challenges like hypothermia
  • Tick bites and Lyme disease

Whether you’re already qualified in Emergency First Aid or First Aid at Work—or planning to be—this course enhances your readiness for the unique demands of working in forested or rural terrain.

Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for:

  • Forestry workers and contractors
  • Tree surgeons and ground crews
  • Agricultural workers and land managers
  • Teams involved in planting, fencing, spraying pesticides, or operating forestry machinery

If your work takes you into isolated or challenging environments, this training ensures you’re prepared to handle emergencies confidently and competently.

Entry Requirements:
No prior experience or qualifications are required to attend this course, although it is designed to complement existing or ongoing Emergency First Aid at Work training.
